Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri is confident star player Riyad Mahrez will remain with the club next season.

The Algeria international was in stunning form last season as he helped propel the King Power stadium side to the summit of the Premier League.

The 25-year-old has since attracted attention from a host of Europe’s best clubs, but Ranieri is insistent the player will stay with the Foxes.

‘I am very confident with him,’ Ranieri told Leicester Mercury. ‘He stays [at the club].’

Fellow Leicester City star Jamie Vardy has already declined a move to Arsenal, while N’Golo Kante has reportedly been linked with Chelsea.

Mahrez netted 17 goals and recorded 11 assists in 37 appearances for Leicester last term.
