Manchester City are set to go head to head with Juventus hoping to lure Alexis Sanchez away from Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola’s side are believed to have launched a £50-million move for the Gunners forward.

Arsenal are looking to offer the Chilean international a new three-year deal, but it is understood he wants a significant wage increase on his current £130,000-a-week deal and is yet to sign.

The 27-year-old will spark a £50-million battle between City and Juventus if he rejects a new contract at the North London club.

Sanchez has been in fine form for the Gunners this season, scoring eight times and assisting a further seven from 15 appearances in all competitions.
