Liverpool has completed the signing of forward Sadio Mane from Southampton for £34million.
The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term contract after passing a medical and agreeing personal terms at Melwood. He will officially become registered as a Reds player on July 1, reports the Liverpool website.
The Senegalese international expressed his delight at signing for a big club like Liverpool.
‘Today is a big day and I am very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe,’ Mane said
‘It’s a club that has won a lot of trophies and has a big history.
‘Now I am looking forward to meeting all the staff and my teammates and starting the season,’ he added.
The forward has also made 36 appearances for Senegal and scored 10 goals for his country.
Before moving to Southampton in 2014 , the forward played for French side Metz and Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.
Mane moves to Liverpool after spending two seasons with Southampton in the Premier League, scoring 25 goals from 75 appearances in all competitions.
The former Metz forward will join the likes of Loris Karius, Joel Matip as well as Marko Grujic, who were all signed ahead of the new season.
