Former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor insists that forward Sadio Mane will only get better under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp.
The 24-year-old’s arrival at Anfield comes after having a successful two-year stint at Southampton, having scored 21 goals in 67 appearances in the Premier League.
Mellor insists the new signing to continues to develop under the mentorship of the German manager.
‘I think it’s an exciting signing, he’s a player who is very capable in the final third and we’ve seen glimpses of him producing [that] at Southampton,’ Mellor said.
‘You just get the feeling, with him arriving at Liverpool with somebody like Jurgen Klopp, who really can get the best out of players, it’s quite exciting to think of his potential.
‘We’ve seen glimpses of him but there’s potential to see a little bit more consistency because in the final third he can really be the difference,’ he added.
The former Metz forward will join the likes of Loris Karius, Joel Matip as well as Marko Grujic, who were all signed ahead of the new season.
