Brazillian centre back Marquinhos could be on the verge of quitting current club Paris Saint-Germain, his brother and agent has revealed.
Marquinhos signed for the club back in 2013 following a series of scintillating displays for Roma, which saw him become the most expensive teenage defender in history.
But things have not gone to plan for the defender since as he has struggled for game time with the French champions.
‘Marquinhos has always been exemplary with the club – he’s never complained. He has, however, often been a spectator during big matches,’ the player’s brother told L’Equipe.
The agent was also insistent his brother would be featuring at the Olympic Games.
‘We were clear… Marquinhos is going to play at the Olympics. Until now, we’ve been malleable. But it can no longer continue like that otherwise we’re going to enter into a conflict. Our patience has limits.
‘We like the club, the supporters, but they also have to show us a minimum of respect or else he’s going to have to leave PSG,’ he concluded.
Marquinhos made 29 appearances for PSG last term.
