Kylian Mbappe scored on his Real Madrid debut as they defeated Atalanta 2-0 to lift the UEFA Super Cup title in Warsaw.

The 25-year-old French prodigy ultimately transferred to Los Blancos this summer upon the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, following several years of persistent efforts by the Spanish champions to get his signature.

Mbappe had great skill and confidence as he scored a goal in the 68th minute, assisted by Jude Bellingham, after a very calm first half.

Fede Valverde scored the first goal for Real Madrid, the reigning champions of the Champions League, against the Italian Europa League winners in Warsaw. This goal was part of Real Madrid’s attempt to win the Super Cup for a record-breaking sixth time.

Mbappe commenced Madrid’s inaugural competitive match of the season as the central striker, flanked by Vinicius Junior on the left and Rodrygo Goes on the right. England international Bellingham provided assistance from a midfield position.

During the first half, the French forward attempted a shot that was successfully stopped by Isak Hien. Although he had difficulty actively participating in the game, he seized the opportunity when Bellingham set him up and scored without error.

In June, Madrid officially announced the acquisition of Mbappe, but, he did not participate in the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.

The forward contributed to France’s advancement to the semi-finals of Euro 2024, despite facing difficulties after sustaining a broken nose in the first game and only scoring one goal, which was a penalty, in the match against Germany.

Mbappe was introduced to more than 80,000 supporters at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Spanish city on July 16. He was then given some time off, and he resumed training a week ago.
