Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan was delighted with the team’s performance as they booked their place in the EFL Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.
The Red Devils, who played the Hammers for the second time in three days, cruised to a comfortable 4-1 victory over Slaven Bilic’s side in the quarter-final at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old was pleased with his contribution to a fine overall performance, which booked their spot in the two-legged semi-finals against Hull City.
‘I’m excited for the performance, I’m excited for my performance,’ Mkhitaryan told the Manchester United website.
‘We’ve done a good job. We’ve tried our best to win because the last game, on Sunday against West Ham, wasn’t very good for us when we didn’t win. But I think this time everything worked out and we’re very pleased.’
Manchester United will refocus on the Premier League when they face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 18:00.
