Spain international forward Alvaro Morata is poised to return to his former club Real Madrid after they exercised a buy-back clause in his contract.

Morata has spent the past two seasons at Juventus, and although he had been attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal, it has now been reported the striker will make a return to Los Blancos.

The news was broken by none other than Juventus’ chief executive Giuseppe Marotta, who looked on as the striker hit seven league goals last term, romping to a fifth-succesive Serie A title in the process.

‘Real Madrid have informed us of their intention to exercise the right to buy back [Morata], we are just waiting for a written offer,’ Marotta has said, reports Goal.com.

The striker is currently on duty with the national side at Euro 2016, where he has thus far managed two goals from his two appearances.

The 23-year-old made 93 appearances for Juventus in his two year stint with the Italian club.
