Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hinted that Henrikh Mkhitaryan could start against West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday.
The 27-year-old earned the club’s man-of-the-match award after his impressive performance during his side’s 4-0 victory over Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday.
Mourinho hailed the Armenian international’s performance, and suggested that he could well start against the Hammers.
‘He just needs now to replicate this kind of performance in the Premier League. The Premier League is different – he needs one more step. Obviously now confidence levels are higher,’ Mourinho told the Manchester United website.
‘This performance gives him the right to believe that he can play the next match again and he needs to replicate this kind of performance in the Premier League with more physicality and more aggression.’
Manchester United meet up with West Ham United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 18:30.
