Crystal Palace have agreed a £32-million fee with Liverpool for Belgium striker Christian Benteke.

Palace have agreed to make Benteke the most expensive signing in their history, and the striker will now have a medical and talk terms in London, according to SkySports.

The Reds initially paid Aston Villa £32.5-million for the striker and have been holding out for a fee in the same region after falling out of favour under German manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Eagles are prepared to pay an initial £27-million plus £5-million in add-ons.

Palace manager Alan Pardew is short of attacking options after the departures of Emmanuel Adebayor, Dwight Gayle and Marouane Chamakh, and Pardew now has funds at his disposal after selling Yannick Bolasie to Everton for £28-million.

Liverpool rejected a previous bid £23-million up front and £7-million in add-ons for the Belgium international.

Over the course of his career, Benteke has scored 105 goals and assisted a further 44 from 276 appearances playing for the likes of Belgium side’s KRC Genk, Standard Liege, KV Kortrijk, KV Mechelen, before making a move to the Premier league playing for Aston Villa and Liverpool.
