West Ham United have placed a £50-million price tag on their key player Dimitri Payet following his heroics at Euro 2016.
Having inspired West Ham to a club record 62 point tally in the Premier League, good enough for seventh place, Payet went on to net three times for France as the hosts finished runners-up in the tournament.
West Ham co-owner David Gold now believes Payet has entered the £50-million bracket.
‘The super clubs would come after a player of his ability,’ Gold told BBC Radio.
‘And of course we wouldn’t even listen to any offer under £50-million, and even then, as I said, we need to keep our best players.’
Gold then went on to insist the side would be highly reluctant to part with their biggest asset; a player who was named in the Uefa Euro 2016 Team of the Tournament.
‘To be absolutely honest with you, we just don’t welcome any offers at all for Dimitri. He is instrumental, he’s important to us, the team is built around him. I would say to you he’s not for sale.
‘You make him as happy as you can. He has a great relationship with the manager which is very, very important to a player,’ Gold concluded.
Payet made 37 appearances for the Hammers last term, scoring 12 times.
