Arsenal have completed the signing of Spanish forward Lucas Perez, who joins the club from La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna.
The 27-year-old has joined the club on a long-term contract for a fee understood to be worth around £17.1-million.
Perez enjoyed a prolific campaign in La Liga last season, scoring 19 goals in all competitions, including 17 in the Spanish league, reports the Arsenal website.
Lucas began his career in Spain with Atletico Madrid C before spells with Rayo Vallecano, Karpaty Lviv and PAOK. He then returned to his home region of Galicia with Deportivo La Coruna in 2014.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Perez will combine well with a partner in attack as he has proven it last season for Deportivo.
‘He’s not only a goalscorer, he’s a guy who combines well with partners, who can give a final ball and makes good runs. He’s got a good eye for goal and had an outstanding season last year,’ Wenger said.
Over the course of his career, Perez has netted 52 goals and created 38 from 177 appearances in all competitions playing for the likes of Rayo Vallecano, Karpaty Lviv, Dynamo Kyiv, PAOK and Deportivo de La Coruna.
