Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is allegedly keen on bringing Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcon to White Hart Lane, according to reports.
The 24-year-old Spanish star has found first team opportunities hard to come by at Real owing to tough competition in the side’s creative midfield slots from Germany star Toni Kroos and Croatian playmaker Luka Modric.
With the star facing further competition from the likes of James Rodriguez and new boy Marco Asensio, Isco has been resigned to making appearances off the bench for the side, which has led Pochettino to believe he could tempt the star to London in the January transfer window.
Tottenham are prepared to pay up to €45 million [£40m)] to acquire the services of the Real star, a fee that would present a record outlay by the club, reports Sport.
Los Blancos are reportedly open to selling the star as the Spaniard’s impact has been limited this season. So far, Isco has played just 192 minutes across all competitions, while the option of more than recuperating the fee they paid to acquire the services of the star from Malaga three seasons ago made prove tempting to the club hierarchy.
The Spaniard is yet to record either a goal or an assist from five appearances for Real this season.
