Crystal Palace have rejected a £12-million bid from Tottenham Hotspur for Wilfried Zaha, with chairman Steve Parrish adamant the player won’t be sold.

Parish was quick to dismiss Spurs’ offer, calling it ‘ridiculous’, while he has moved to reassure Palace fans that the player remains a vital asset to the side.

‘There’s no chance whatsoever of Wilfried Zaha leaving the club in this transfer window,’ the chairman told talkSPORT. ‘I can absolutely reassure every Palace fan he is an integral part of our plans.

‘We’ve told Spurs that there is really no point bidding for him because he is going nowhere – 100 percent guaranteed.’

Zaha himself is said to be keen on the move to White Hart Lane, particularly given that Spurs will be playing Champions League football this term.

Parish, meanwhile, has claimed he believes Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino thinks of Zaha as ‘the next Cristiano Ronaldo’.

‘It’s not right really that players get their heads turned. I was told that the manager there thinks he’s the next Ronaldo. Well, I’d like to get the next Ronaldo for £12-million.’

‘We need to convince Wilfried that Palace is the right place for him and that he can succeed here’, he concluded.

Zaha scored five goals and assisted a further seven in 43 appearances for Palace last season.
