Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey believes his country are overdue a win over their English neighbours.
The Dragons, who are set to clash with the Three Lions in a crucial Euro 2016 Group B match on Thursday, have failed to achieve victory against the English since 1984, reports Goal.com.
A win would assure the Welsh passage into the knockout phase of the tournament for the first time, while England desperately need a win having frustratingly been held by Russia in their first match.
‘You can see it in all sports, in rugby and things like that, there is always an extra edge with England. We are no different, we are really looking forward to it and getting something out of the game.’
Wales suffered a couple of scares in their opening round victory over Slovakia, but Ramsey believes his side will only get better as the tournament goes on.
‘I believe we can grow into the tournament. Hopefully we can continue improving. The Slovakia result puts us in a good position and we will have even more belief now.
‘There have been some down points but that has helped us grow as a team, and now we are seeing the rewards of what was put in place over the last few years,’ he added.
The game will be played at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, Lens.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
