Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has expressed his frustration with his side’s poor form, despite another victory in the Champions League.
The Foxes have struggled in the Premier League this season and currently sit in 13th place, well off the pace set by joint leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.
Despite their domestic struggles, however, Leicester have won each of the their three Champions League fixtures, the last of which came as they topped Copenhagen 1-0 on Tuesday.
‘I’m very proud from one side, from another side when I think about the Premier League I’m very, very angry,’ Ranieri told the media, reports Goal.
‘It’s just psychological because when we play in the Champions League, they’re switched on, they’re smart, focused in every situation. You pay for this, you spend a lot of energy, mental energy in Champions League games then you come back a little more down, it’s normal.’
Ranieri has insisted he does not want his side to prioritise the Champions League and is demanding they change their attitude to domestic fixtures.
‘But we want to change this mood because it’s important for us now the Premier League. The Premier League is our priority but also of course the Champions League because now in one month, three matches and we’re in or out,’ he explained.
‘We are in a good position, our destiny is in our hands. We want to continue in this way,’ he concluded.
The Foxes are next in action when they welcome Crystal Palace to the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
The contest gets underway from 16:00.
