Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is relishing his first major pre-season tour with the Reds as he continues to build on a phenomenal few months as a first-team player.
The 18-year-old will be part of the travelling squad that leaves for China on Tuesday ahead of matches with Borussia Dortmund on July 22 and Manchester City July 25, reports the Manchester City website.
The England international is looking forward to the experience and getting a chance to impress his new manager Jose Mourinho during the tour.
‘It means a lot to be going,’ Rashford said.
‘It’s an opportunity to show the manager what you’ve got and you have to take the opportunity when it comes.
‘It would be a massive experience especially with the players that could be going as well. I’ve got a lot I can learn from them.’
The striker has been to Asia before back when he was still part of the United youth team and he insists that it was a good experience because of the level of support in Asia.
‘It’s crazy to see their support. The conditions can be difficult to play in as we witnessed in the tournament we were in back then but we got through it and it was a really good experience,’ he added.
As for what constitutes a good pre-season, Rashford added: ‘First and foremost a lot of touches of the ball. The training part of the tour is a big thing and getting used to the players and the personalities. I’m really looking forward to it.’
