Manchester United clinched victory over Hull City in dramatic circumstances on Saturday as Marcus Rashford poached a last-ditch winner.
Despite an heroic performance by the Hull defence it took just a moment of magic for Wayne Rooney and Rashford to combine to wrap up all three points for United.
According to SASoccermag’s Opta-powered match stats, Rashford was on the field for just 19 minutes of play, during which time he made 21 touches of the ball.
Having managed to fire off three shots in his brief cameo, Rashford came close with a dizzying run followed up by a carefully placed shot that was well saved, before he eventually walked in Rooney’s cross with virtually no time left on the clock.
The striker was dynamic and direct with the ball at his feet, while he was was accurate with eight of his nine passes. The young Englishman – who had a similar impact of the bench last on occasion season – proved to be just the spark United required.
