New Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed rumours striker Robert Lewandowski could head to the Italian’s former club Real Madrid.
Reports had been circulating the Lewandowski himself is keen on a switch to La Liga, having scored 47 league goal in two seasons since his arrival at Bayern.
However, Ancelotti is keen to keep hold of the Poland star and has pointed out that Real Madrid don’t need the striker given the side is already packed to the brim with attacking talent.
Los Blancos currently have the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema on their books, while the Champions League holders have also recently re-signed Spanish forward Alvaro Morata.
‘Real Madrid have a number of fantastic players, like Benzema, Bale and Ronaldo. They don’t need Lewandowski as well,’ Ancelotti told Sport Bild.
Ancelotti was dismissed from Real Madrid in 2015 following a trophyless season despite claiming the Champions League in 2014.
