Former Brazil midfielder Ze Roberto is backing Gabriel Jesus to make the move to Europe, believing Real Madrid would be the ideal destination for the star.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich have allegedly shown interest in the 19-year-old, with Barca having scouted the player on several occasions.
Ze Roberto, a former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich player himself, is more in favour of the player joining the ranks of Los Blancos.
‘I think he is ready to make the move to Europe,’ Ze Roberto told AS .
‘A few months ago someone from Bayern Munich got in touch with me to talk about him. They wanted to know how he is outside the pitch,’ he added.
Nevertheless, Ze Roberto believes an opportunity to work with Zinedine Zidane and players of the quality of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, would be too good a prospect to turn down.
‘A transfer now seems difficult, though,’ the veteran admitted. Palmeiras [Jesus’ current club] do not have to sell. I can only see him leaving if someone pays his buy-out clause.
‘He is not better than Neymar, though,’ Ze Roberto clarified.
‘But after him, Gabriel Jesus is the best young Brazilian player I’ve seen over the past 10 years.’
