Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has denied knowledge of any persisting links between himself and Real Madrid.
The player is currently preparing with the Spain squad ahead of La Roja’s defence of their European crown, but his place in the starting line-up remains in doubt.
‘I know nothing about Madrid wanting to sign me. I’m calm. I have three more years in Manchester,’ De Gea told Cadena Ser.
‘United have given me everything. Now I’m just concentrating on the Euros and to be with the national team.’
De Gea came within inches of signing for the Spanish powerhouse a year ago, but was infamously denied a move back to his home city following a problem with Los Blancos’ fax machine, which saw his registration for the current Champions League holders miss the cut-off time.
‘I’m at a big club, which gives me love every day,’ de Gea said of United.
‘I’m very grateful for Manchester United and I’m very happy there.’
De Gea has been a crucial player for the Red Devils in recent seasons and has won the side’s Player of the Season award three years in succession. The goalkeeper made 42 appearances across all competitions for Manchester United last term.
