Danny Rose played a vital role by scoring an equalising goal to help Tottenham Hotspur salvage a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

The Reds took the lead late in the first half after Erik Lamela clipped Roberto Firmino just inside the box and James Milner converted the penalty.

After having few chances, Spurs burst into the game with half an hour to play and made it count as Danny Rose volleyed home in the 72nd minute to earn a point for the hosts.

The 26-year-old played an important role for Spurs by getting one shot at goal and scoring, which earned his side a vital point at home.

According to SASoccermag’s Opta-powered match stats, Danny Rose managed to complete 62 touches on the ball  after spending 90 minutes on the field.

The England international completed a total 22 out of 30 passes for Spurs, with 43.3% coming from the right and 40% of his distribution came from the centre.

The full back was brilliant in defence for Spurs, winning 100% (3 out of 3) of his tackles made while making six clearances. He also won 10 out of 13 duels and committed two fouls and winning two.

Liverpool controlled the match and had the best possession (50.6%), while Tottenham Hotspur could only manage 49.4% of the possession.

Meanwhile, The Reds had more shots on goal than Spurs, producing 13 chances at goal compared to 11 efforts respectively.

Liverpool will now welcome Leicester City to Anfield, while Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Britannia Stadium when they play Stoke City on September 10.

Kick-off has been set for 16:00 and 18:30 receptively.
