Xherdan Shaqiri produced a moment of magic scoring a scissor-kick during his sides 5-4 defeat on penalties against Poland in their Euro 2016 Round of 16 in  Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

With Poland advancing to the quarter-finals of the Euro 2016 tournament, Switzerland winger Xherdan Shaqiri was instrumental in getting his side back into the match after producing a moment of magic, scoring a 25 yard scissor-kick to level matters.

The 24-year-old was in fine form in attack for Switzerland, putting in a man-of-the-match performance, while completing 82 touches on the ball and winning two out of eight duels.

According to SASoccermag’s Opta-powered match stats, the Stoke City winger created three chances in attack for Switzerland, while completing a total of three out of seven crosses.

In attack Shaqiri took a total of three shots at goal, two on target while two came from inside the penalty area and one coming from outside the box, ultimately leading to the equalising goal for Switzerland.

Shaqiri managed to complete a total of 47 out of 52 passes, with 34.6% coming from the left and 26.9% coming from the back.

Although, Poland won the match, Switzerland controlled the match and had the best possession (55.8%), while the Polish side could only managed 44.2% of possession.

The result means that Poland progress into the quarter-finals, while Switzerland have been eliminated from the Round of 16.
