Sigthorsson star in stalemate

Iceland and Hungary played out to a 1-1 in Euro 2016 action, with Kolbeinn Sigthorsson winning the man-of-the-match award in their Group F encounter in Marseille.

FC Nantes forward played a major role in trying helping Iceland securing their first victory at a major tournament, but will have to wait until their next Group F.

According to SASoccermag’s Opta-powered match centre, Sigthorsson completed a total of 38 touches, while winning 11 out of 22 duels against Hungary.

In attack the Icelandic forward had one shot at goal coming from inside the box, while creating one chance going forward.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old managed to complete a total of 16 out of 22 passes, with 33.4% coming from the middle, 29.6% coming from the left and 22.12% coming from down the right.

Defensively the forward made two clearance and conceded three foul against him, winning one.

Although, the stats showed that Hungary continued to have the best of the possession (71.9%), Iceland drew the match 1-1 at the final whistle.

The victory sees Iceland remain second in Group f with two points, while Hungary remain top with four points in the Euro 2016 campaign.
