Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has suffered a double-fractured toe which could keep him out of action for at least three to four weeks.
This rules the 26-year-old out of the Red Devils’ Premier League clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford on 19 November.
Smalling also missed his side’s 3-1 victory over Swansea City on Sunday. Apparently the defender aggravated the injury during a light training session earlier this week.
Meanwhile, England coach Gareth Southgate has omitted both Smalling and Luke Shaw from of his squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Scotland and the international friendly against Spain.
The England defender last featured for United during their 4-0 defeat to Chelsea in October and has only played in seven of their 11 Premier League matches this season.
Jose Mourinho is already without injured centre back Eric Bailly and right back Antonio Valencia.
