Tottenham Hotspur missed out on the chance to go top of the Premier League table after playing out to a goalless draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The match got off to a good start with Cherries midfielder Charlie Daniels hitting the crossbar from close range in the opening five minutes.
The Lilywhites gained momentum and started seeing more possession on the ball as the half went on, and they came close to breaking the deadlock through Erik Lamela, who rattled the woodwork from a distance.
However, despite Spurs dominating the opening 45 minutes of the match the score remained zero heading into half-time.
With Mauricio Pochettino’s side playing without a striker, the Argentinian coach opted to introduce striker Vincent Janssen to replace Son Heung-min after the hour mark.
Both sides failed to create any clear-cut opportunities as chances were hard to come by, with both sides committing unnecessary fouls.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe opted to bring on forward Benik Afobe as the home side went in search of a late victory in the final stages of the match.
However, neither side could carve out chances in the final 10 minutes of the match and both sides were forced to settle for a point each as the match ended in a goalless draw.
