Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Leicester City to White Hart Lane on Saturday as the sides played out a highly entertaining 1-1 draw.
The Foxes got off to an impressive start as they forced the Spurs stopper to come flying off his line twice to claim the ball in the opening minutes.
Spurs’ first chance came via the boot of Dele Alli as he cracked an effort on around the quarter-hour mark before Danny Rose forced a second save in quick succession.
With Leicester struggling to create chances, Victor Wanyama showed good technique to strike a volley but could not direct the effort on target with 25 minutes played.
Spurs then came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock in the 40th minute as Alli struck the bar following a pull-back from Kyle Walker.
Then, just two minutes later, Spurs were awarded a penalty for an alleged foul by Robert Huth. Vincent Janssen stepped up and duly slotted his penalty down the middle, gifting Spurs a 1-0 lead at the interval.
The second half got off to a perfect start for Leicester as Ahmed Musa drew the Foxes level with a tidy finish after just two minutes.
Spurs responded well to conceding the equalising goal as they steadily resumed their assault on the Leicester City box. They then came close to re-establishing their lead on the hour mark, only for the ball to squirm over the bar after some commotion in the box.
Jamie Vary almost succeeded in dragging a dangerous ball across the box for a teammate as the game entered its final 20 minutes, with both teams pressing hard to score a decisive goal.
Jan Vertonghen came desperately close to snatching the points for Spurs late on as his header struck the bar, but in the end, the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Elsewhere, Middlesbrough were victorious over Bournemouth as they recorded a comfortable 2-0 win.
