Chelsea star John Terry has praised the arrival of new Chelsea signing N’Golo Kante following the star’s debut against AC Milan.
Kante, who recently departed Leicester City to link up with the Blues in a £32-million move, recently joined his teammates on their US tour, where they are competing in the International Champions Cup.
Kante came on in the second period for his new side as they played out a 3-1 over Milan. Terry, meanwhile, was full of praise for the new midfielder.
‘It is a great signing for us and he was incredible last year,’ Terry told Goal.
‘It is great to have him part of our squad and all the new boys we have got are looking good so I am delighted and looking forward to getting back to now.’
Terry himself looked poised to exit Chelsea at the end of the campaign but was offered a year long extention at the last minute.
‘He was very good tonight, he has looked very good in training but he has not been back too long,’ Terry added. ‘He has been very good since he has come in, some new ideas, new methods and we are adapting well to it.’
Terry also commented on how new boss Antonio Conte was adjusting to the side.
‘I thought at times and throughout the tour we played well and consistent and I am sure he will be pleased with us but there’s always room for improvement,’ the defender said.
Finally, the star confirmed he is nearing full fitness as the new seasons draws closer.
‘I am feeling good, this is what pre-season is about, getting training, getting double sessions, getting fit, getting 90 minutes or 45 minutes under your belt, that’s the purpose of these tours, everyone getting together so that has served us well and hopefully we go back now fully fit,’ he concluded.
