Bayern Munich and Manchester United are set to fail in a bid to lure French international defender Raphael Varane from the Spanish capital this summer.
Despite falling down the pecking order at Real Madrid, Varane will stay at the club, according to Le 10 Sport.
The French outlet believes Varane will snub offers from former managers Carlo Ancelotti and Jose Mourinho after talks with Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane has primarily opted for Sergio Ramos and Pepe in defence but the 23-year-old defender is ready to spend one more season with the current Champions League winners before deciding on his future.
Varane made just 33 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos, 13 fewer than the season before.
