Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez will be rested for their Champions League clash against Porto on Wednesday.
Having already qualified as the winners of Group G, the Foxes will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten record in their debut season in the European tournament.
The Italian manager has revealed that Kasper Schmeichel and Bartosz Kapustka are injured, while Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Andy King have all been rested for the match.
‘Available are all the players who have travelled with me. Not available are [Islam] Slimani, [Kasper] Schmeichel, Robert Huth, [Jamie] Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and [Andy] King,’ Ranieri told the Leicester City website.
‘I prefer to leave and maintain there because some are not in good condition and then some can recover well. The others are two (Slimani and Huth) yellow cards and don’t want to take a risk.
‘Of course, he (Kapustka) could be available but he has a little injury to his ankle. For this reason, he didn’t travel with us – he is very unlucky in this period.’
Leicester City will now travel to the Estadio Do Dragao when they take on Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Kick-off has been set for 21:45.
