Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says striker Olivier Giroud ‘can’t stop scoring after grabbing a late winner in their FA Cup clash against Preston North End on Saturday.
In the space of seven days, Giroud has helped his side beat Crystal Palace, grabbed two assists and a stoppage-time equaliser against Bournemouth, and has now bagged a late winner against Preston North End in the FA Cup.
The 67-year-old manager insists that the French striker can’t stop scoring goals at the moment and Wenger says he is grateful to the striker for his contribution in recent matches.
‘He can’t stop scoring,’ Wenger told the Arsenal website.
‘He had some good service as well today. But everybody contributes in the squad and it’s moments in the season where you have to use the players when it all goes for them. Giroud has shown that at the moment in the last month he is always very decisive.
‘I must say, the team has great ambition, a great togetherness and they respond always when they are in trouble and that’s a great quality.’
Arsenal will now return to the Premier League when they face Swansea City on Saturday.
The match at the Liberty Stadium kicks off at 17:00.
