Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Lucas Perez has an ‘eye for goal’ after the striker scored a hat-trick against Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The Gunners ran out 4-1 winners over the Siss side at St. Jakob-Park in their final Group A encounter before the round of 16 begins.
The 67-year-old was quick to single out the Spanish striker’s performance and went on to praise his goalscoring abilities for the club this season.
‘The first two looked like quite easy goals and were what we call tap-ins in England, but they were created by the team and you have to be there to finish,’ Wenger told the Arsenal website.
‘The first goal is a real striker’s goal. He scored more than 20 goals in Spain last season and he has shown why. He has an eye for goal and good movement in the box, which is why he scores.’
Arsenal will now welcome Stoke City to the Emirates Stadium when the two side’s meet in the Premier League on Saturday.
Kick-off has been set for 17:00.
