Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez has the ability to always produce something special.
Sanchez continued his good run of form after netting a brace to help his side secure a hard-fought victory over Bournemouth on Sunday.
The 67-year-old praised the 28-year-old forward’s performance, saying he always finds a way to change the match around in his side’s favour.
‘Even when he looks dead, he’s still alive and always finds the resources to do something special. He has that conditioning which allows him to always find an extra gear to be dangerous,’ Wenger told the Arsenal website.
Wenger stressed the importance of a new deal for Sanchez, to fend off the luring competition from other clubs.
‘It is important. How important it is, I don’t know – we will not sort it tonight. We have some time in front of us.’
Arsenal next take on Southampton in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
The match at the Emirates Stadium kicks off at 21:45.
