Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Mesut Ozil has a taste for goals and he expected to score a lot more goals this season for the Gunners.
The 28-year-old scored his third goal of the season in stunning fashion as the Gunners made it six wins in a row with a 3-2 victory over Swansea on Saturday.
The 66-year-old manager believes it is just a matter of time before the German international starts to score more goals more often.
‘When you see him finish like that, you think “Come on my friend – do it more often!” because in training he scores, it’s very difficult to read for the keepers and he scores when he wants,’ Wenger told the Arsenal website.
‘And we want him to take more opportunities. There was an opportunity in the first half where he didn’t even hit the ball well and after he scores a fantastic goal.
‘I think it’s coming. It’s coming and I hope these kind of goals give him the taste to do more. He has celebrated his birthday in a great way today.’
Arsenal will now turn their focus to the Champions League when they welcome Ludogorets Razgrad to the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
Kick-off has been set for 20:45.
