West Ham United has announced that Gokhan Tore has joined the club on a season-long loan from Super Lig side Besiktas.
The 24-year-old has signed for a fee of £2.5-million with the option to buy for a further £10-million.
Tore was one of the star performers at Besiktas and played a big part in helping them finish above Fenerbahce to win the Super Lig title, reports the West Ham United website.
The former Chelsea youth product is relishing the chance to get his Premier League campaign underway with the Hammers.
‘I am very happy to be at West Ham. I watched many games that they played last season and saw how passionate the fans are. That made me want to come here and I am looking forward to playing in front of them.
Hammers coach Slaven Bilic knows all about the talented winger having managed the midfielder during his spell in charge of Besiktas.
‘Slaven was also a big factor in me coming here and he is a great manager. He is the main man and knows me very well. I could not have said no to him,’ he added.
‘He is the best manager I have worked under and he is like a father to the players. You feel like you are family.’
Tore will start his pre-season preparations at the club’s training ground while the rest of the first-team finish their pre-season tour to America.
