Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has admitted he likes Paul Pogba, but that is current squad is difficult to improve upon.

Pogba had been linked with a move to the Champions League winners from Juventus, with the Spanish club alleged to have been of greater interest to the star than fellow interested party Manchester United.

Zidane, however, has revealed he is already more than satisfied with the squad at his disposal.

‘I am happy with the squad I have got and it’s difficult to improve on it,’ Zidane said at a news conference, reports ESPN.

‘Do I like Pogba? Of course, he’s a very good player and every club wants the best players, but right now he’s at Juve and we have a large squad already.’

The manager revealed his focus is on his side’s preparation for next season.

‘There are still lots of players yet to join up with the squad and with the Euros going on we couldn’t do anything.We have three games coming up and that’s the focus at the moment,’ he added.

Real confirmed the buyback of young Spanish striker Alvaro Morata for £25 million earlier this summer, also from Juventus.

‘He is another member of this team. He’s back and I’m happy to have him,’ Zidane said of the star.

‘He is an academy product, who knows what Real Madrid is and truthfully we are, and me above all, happy to have him with us.

‘We have a large squad and all the players will be important. Alvaro will be one more of the team.’
