Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is reportedly interested in luring French compatriot N’Golo Kante to Los Blancos for next season.
Zidane is believed to have been impressed by the player, who has impressed in a holding midfield role for both France and shock Premier League champions Leicester City, reports Marca.
The 24-year-old recently made his debut for France in a friendly game, in which he impressed enough to earn a spot in the nation’s squad for the Euro 2016.
Kante, meanwhile, is believed to have a €25-million release clause in his contract with the Foxes. With Real Madrid said to have been tracking the star since January, the infamous big spenders could be tempted to make an offer.
Kante has been compared with former Real star Claude Makelele, who helped revolutionise the defensive midfield position while at the Madrid club.
France has qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament and is set to face minnows Iceland for a place in the final four.
