Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson has revealed that he is planning to bring in new signings during the January transfer window.
Dikwena have had a slow start to the season, claiming just three wins from 14 Absa Premiership matches and are yet to make any signings during the transfer window.
The Rustenburg-based club also head into the CAF Confederations Cup this year, and Johnson admits they need plenty of improvement in all departments if they are to make anything of their continental and domestic campaigns.
The 58-year-old has confirmed that he will bring in new players during the transfer window to stregthen the squad ahead of their participation in the Caf Confederations Cup.
‘I have been talking with management. We have been discussing a lot. It would be irresponsible of myself and the management of this club that we are not going to do movement of players,’ Johnson told the Platinum Stars website.
‘That’s because we are going into Africa. We have analyzed the first half of the season together with management and we are not happy. We think we can do better.
‘There will be player movements within the market. We have to go and see that we try to find the best. There could be an addition of one or three players within each area on the pitch – defence, midfield, forward.’
He added: ‘We will beef up the team. There might be one or two players that could be moving away from us. There might be one or two that could be put on transfer. We are yet to make those decisions but those are possibilities.’
When the Absa Premiership resumes, Platinum Stars will take on Orlando Pirates on February 8.
The match at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
