Maritzburg United have bolstered their squad ahead of the 2017-18 Absa Premiership season with the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns defender Siyanda Xulu.
Xulu arrived at the Naturena-based outfit in July 2015 with much fanfare, but struggled to impose himself in Steve Komphela’s side – making ten appearances in all competitions during his tenure with the club.

The former Rostov man initially looked set for an exit from the club in June this year, after reportedly agreeing to terminate his contract. However, Xulu spent another two months out of action after it was revealed that the two parties hadn’t agreed on the termination of his contract.
Now a free agent, Xulu has signed a three-year deal with Fadlu David’s side and becomes the club’s seventh signing during the transfer window ahead of the new season, following the arrivals of Richard Ofori, Jethren Barr, Rushine De Reuck, Motsie Matima, Mxolisi Kunene and Liam Youlley.
