Orlando Pirates new signing Wayne Sandilands

Orlando Pirates have further bolstered their squad ahead of the 2017-18 season with the signing of goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands on a three-year-deal.

The Soweto giants have completed their second major signing of the transfer window, following the acquisition of Thamsanqa Sangweni from Chippa United.

Pirates endured some horrible goalkeeping misfortunes in their last campaign, and in a bid to bolster that department they have secured the services of Sandilands on a free transfer, after the former Bafana Bafana international’s contract with Mamelodi Sundowns came to an end.

The Mayfair-based outfit took to their official twitter account to publicise the deal.

The 33-year-old will do battle with Brighton Mhlongo, Jackson Mabokgwane, Siyabong Mpontshane and newly-singed Emmanuel Daniel for the number one jersey.

Sandilands revealed his delight upon joining Pirates, in addition to thanking the Masandawana fans for their support.
