Bidvest Wits have bolstered their squad ahead of the 2017/18 Absa Premiership season with the signing of Daylon Claasen from German outfit 1860 Munich.
The 27-year-old has been subject of widespread speculation regarding his future, with PSL clubs Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns said to have been interested in signing him.
Gavin Hunt confirmed his interest in Claasen and Thamsanqa Sangweni at the club’s awards ceremony on Wednesday night, and has since moved quickly to secure the services of Claasen.

Claasen spent almost a decade playing in Europe after completing a move from Ajax Cape Town to Ajax Amsterdam in 2008.
The former Bafana Bafana international is said to have penned a multimillion-rand deal with the league champions and is expected to compete with the likes of Thabang Monare, Granwald Scott, Xola Mlambo, Phumlani Ntshangase and Ben Motshwari for a starting berth.
