Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the signing of Bafana Bafana right back Anele Ngcongca.
Ngcongca signed for Sundowns as part of coach Pitso Mosimane’s bid to strengthen the squad and ending speculation about the player’s destination as several PSL clubs were after his signature, reports the Mamelodi Sundowns website.
The 28-year-old has been a regular in the national squad. He started his career at amateur side Aces United, before joining FC Fortune from where he moved to Belgian side Genk in 2007, for whom he made 223 appearances, scoring eight goals.
The Bafana Bafana right back has also spent a season on loan at Ligue 2 side Troyes last season.
Ncgongca has become Sundowns latest signing after Yannick Zakri, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Lucky Mohomi,Thapelo Morena and Ricardo Nascimento.
Over the course of his career, Ngcongca has scored eight goals and assisted 15 from 302 appearances playing for the likes of KRC Genk and Troyes.
