Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has stated that side has the winning culture and mentality is already in the team’s DNA.

The Brazilians walked away with both the Absa Premiership and Telkom Knockout last season and recently secured their spot in the MTN8 final following a 1-0 win over Chippa United.

Mosimane’s side can reach another final on Saturday if they defeat Zambia’s Zesco United in the second leg of their CAF Champions League last-four tie at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Mosimane’s men lost the first duel 2-1 in Ndola, according to KickOff.com.

The former Bafana Bafana coach insisted that he has installed a winning penalty in his squad and recent result has proven that.

‘Before I came here there was eight years of drought with all players … quality. They bought more than I bought and why didn’t they win? Because you have to go inside and try and make them believe,’ Mosimane said.

‘At Sundowns where we see a trophy, we want to lift it. It’s culture, mentality, it’s in the DNA. We go to Namibia, it’s a pre-season tournament against Pirates I said we lifting the trophy. We played  Nedbank Ke Yona Cup, we lift the trophy. We played eTV Cup, we lift the trophy. Whatever is in front of us we lift, it’s Sundowns.”

Mosimane admits that the pressure is high at Sundowns and there are high expectations that come with the title.

‘The pressure at Sundowns, the pressure is high at Sundowns. You have to try and win the cup finals and expectations are high. If you are a coach at Sundowns you are expected to win the league,’ he added.

‘You are expected to win the cup, whichever one you are competing in. It’s unbelievable, it’s massive pressure.’

Mamelodi will now face Zesco United in the Caf Champions League on Saturday.

The match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium kicks off at 19:00.
