SuperSport United were held to a 0-0 goalless draw by Free State Stars at the King Zwelithini Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
Ea Lla Koto had the first opportunity in the opening stages of the match later, but SuperSport goalkeeper Ronwen Willaims was on hand to deny Moeketsi Sekola from close range.
Matsatsantsa saw more of possession on the ball as the half went on, but could not create any clear-cut chances at goal when Kingston Nkhatha’s poor finishing let him down in front of goal .
However, despite SuperSport dominating possession the score remained goalless heading into the half-time interval.
Ten minutes into the second half, Stuart Baxter introduced Thabo Mnyamane to replace Nkhatha.
The hosts continued to push for an opening goal and were presented with a chance in the 68th minute when Brockie picked out Mario Booysen, who effort was guided straight into the hands of Thela Ngobeni.
Matsatsantsa created the best opportunity of the match when striker Thuso Phala’s cross found Booysen, who rattled the crossbar with thumping header, 10 minutes later.
However, neither side could find the decisive goal as both sides were forced to settle for a goalless draw at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
