Adidas South Africa has unveiled the new Urban Football Boot, an interpretation of the X boot, specifically designed for the cage and the streets.

The X boot was created for the player who causes chaos, the spark that ignites the game and the one who defies the rules. The new Urban Boot is for the X player who creates magic in the cage and brings fire to the streets.

Adidas South Africa head of football Adrian de Souza has revealed that the Urban Boot is designed for the player who dominates at Fives Futbol, takes over the streets or bosses the cage.

‘We have seen an increase in the number of players who don’t only play the game in traditional surroundings like grass pitches and stadiums, but have taken the game to the streets. This boot is made for them,’ stated De Souza.

The new boot will be made available to the public at a Fives Street Pop Up, which is set to take place for the first time in the Joburg metro on 12 November.

The event, which boasts urban activities such as Breaking, Graffiti, Freestyling and Street Soccer, will play host to 20 three-versus-three soccer teams competing in a Winners Stay On, one-goal-and-off, Street tournament.

This format provides a fast, tactical and exciting football experience that brings the game back to its roots.
