National First Division side AmaZulu have completed the signing of striker Sphesihle Nzimande from Polokwane City.
A deal between Polokwane has been finalised for the services of the striker which will see him joining Usuthu on a two-year contract.
The 24-year-old says he excited to return home and play for a club he supported growing up.
‘It’s always been my wish to play for a club like AmaZulu which I grew up watching as a youngster,’ Nzimande told the AmaZulu website.
‘With the experience, I’ve gathered I believe I will be able to help the team this season.’
The former Golden Arrows striker says he is relishing the prospect of learning from Usuthu’s experienced campaigners, Siyabonga Nomvethe and Mabhuti Khenyeza.
‘I didn’t think that one day I’d play with the likes of Bhele and Mabhuti and to me that’s exciting,’ he said.
‘I believe they can push everyone else with their experience.
‘It’s also good that we’re sort of at the same age group with the other players and many of them listen and respect one another.’
AmaZulu will now take on Black Leopards in their opening National First Division match at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday.
Kick-off has been set for 15:00.
