AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela has confirmed that Usuthu will not be signing defender Kyle Davies ahead of the new season.

The former Orlando Pirates defender has recently trained with Usuthu in the hopes of impressing coach Steve Barker to earn a permanent contract with the club.

Davies was hoping to resuscitate his career after failing to play a single appearance for the Soweto giants since signing for the Buccaneers from the Nedbank Ke Yona Team in 2014.

The general manager confirmed that the defender does not meet the requirements of the clubs.

‘We are not signing him. Because he’s not good enough for us to sign him,’ Sokhela told KickOff.com

The defender also spent a season long loan at National First Division side Royal Eagles during the 2014-15 season, however, he to get the necessary game time under his belt with the NFD side.
