Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the return of midfielder Matias Esquivel from Argentine outfit CA Talleres.

The 25-year-old spent the first half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Talleres and went on to make 12 appearances for the club despite not making an impact at the club.

The Argentine winner was subsequently named on the bench for their 4-0 win over Golden Arrows but remained an unused substitution.

He was joined at the club by Talleres teammate defender Lucas Suárez, who will spend the rest of the season on loan at Sundowns.

“Let’s welcome midfielder Matias Esquivel back from Argentina,” Sundowns said in a statement.
