Arrows close to Pelembe deal

Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen revealed that Abafana Bes’thende are close to completing the signing of Helder Pelembe from Orlando Pirates.

The Mozambican striker has since started training with Abafana Bes’thende, and represented them in the Uthungula Mayoral Cup semi-finals against Thanda Royal Zulu in Richards Bay, reports KickOff.com.

‘It should be (done) and we are positive we can secure him,’ Larsen said.

‘He only came a few days ago and he’s not fit. Of course, we’re not expecting too much of him because his match fitness is way below everybody else but these type of games improve your match fitness.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic coach went on to praise the 28-year-old insisting that will be good competition for Lerato Lamola and Sbusiso Sibeko in attack for Arrows.

‘He’s a quality player and he’s a Mozambican international and I have worked with him before, and yes good professional,’ he added.

‘I think he will also give (Sbusiso) Sibeko as well as (Lerato) Lamola some competition in that (striking) department.’

Pelembe, who spent the whole of last season on loan at Celtic made a total of 11 appearances and netted thrice for Phunya Sele Sele in all competitions.
