Golden Arrows have now returned to training as they prepare for their next Absa Premiership clash against SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on February 8.
Abafana Bes’thende assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has revealed that the club’s main focus during their training sessions is to get the players back to full match fitness following the break.
‘This week, the squad will focus on a number of assessment programs to determine whether the players have kept to their training programmes provided to them over the break,’ Ncikazi told the Golden Arrows website.
‘We will be focussing on their fitness levels and body fitness which will enable us to prepare field training and gym training schedules for each of them.
He added: ‘We will then concentrate on getting the squad back to a position where we focus on ball skill and teamwork and once we are happy will put all of our efforts together to put a training plan in place that focusses on our first target of 2017, which will be a win against Supersport’
‘Both the first squad and Diski training staff were present for the practice this morning and each player was scrutinised and discussed in order to properly prepare for the remainder of the season ahead.’
Golden Arrows against SuperSport United kicks off at 19:30.
